Ohio Revised Code Section 715.61 provides for municipal corporations to regulate dance halls. Council has found that there is a need to regulate dance halls, and specifically teen dance clubs, in the City of Brooklyn, in order to protect and preserve the health and safety of teenagers under the age of 18 in the City of Brooklyn.
The purpose of this chapter is to regulate dance halls and teen dance clubs in order to prevent indecency, disorder, violence, and other harm; to preserve peace and good order and to suppress vice; and to protect against fire and other dangers. In addition, it is the purpose of this Section to promote the health, safety and welfare of teenagers by allowing teen dance clubs, by regulating such clubs.
