The Commissioner of Buildings shall perform his duties under the direction and supervision of the Mayor. He shall issue all permits required by ordinance in the construction, demolition, alteration, repair and maintenance of buildings and their appurtenances. It shall be his duty and responsibility to inspect all construction work within the Village. He shall make the intermediate and final inspections, shall have authority to adopt and promulgate detailed guidelines for the design and installation of small cell facilities and wireless support structures and shall have authority over the location of buildings and structures in accordance with the provisions of the ordinances of the Village, including the survey of any site.
He shall be charged with enforcement of the provisions of the Building Code and other ordinances relating to the construction, demolition, alteration, repair, maintenance and safety of buildings and structures. He shall possess such powers as may be vested by ordinance. He shall perform such further duties as the Mayor or Council may require.
