6-7-1: STOP SIGNS:

   A.   Stop Required: Except when directed to proceed by a police officer or traffic control signal, every driver of a vehicle approaching a stop intersection indicated by a stop sign shall stop:

      1.   At a clearly marked limit line, but if there is no limit line; then

      2.   Before entering the crosswalk on the near side of the intersection, but if there is no crosswalk; then

      3.   At the point nearest the intersecting roadway where the driver has a view of approaching traffic on the intersecting roadway before entering such roadway.

   B.   Yielding Right-Of-Way: After having stopped, the driver shall yield the right-of-way to any vehicle in the intersection or which is approaching on another roadway so closely as to constitute an immediate hazard during the time when such driver is moving across or within the intersection or junction of roadways. 6-7-2: YIELD SIGNS:

   A.   Requirements: The driver of a vehicle approaching a yield sign shall slow down to a speed reasonable for existing conditions and, if required for safety to stop, shall stop at a clearly marked limit line, but if there is no limit line then before entering the crosswalk on the near side of the intersection, but if there is no crosswalk then at the point nearest the intersecting roadway where the driver has a view of approaching traffic on the intersecting roadway before entering such roadway.

   B.   Yielding Right-Of-Way: After slowing or stopping, the driver shall yield the right-of-way to any vehicle in the intersection or approaching on another street so closely as to constitute an immediate hazard during the time such driver is moving across or within the intersection; provided, however, that if such a driver is involved in a collision with a vehicle in the intersection, after driving past a yield sign without stopping, such collision shall be deemed prima facie evidence of his failure to yield. 6-7-3: EMERGING AND ENTERING ALLEY, DRIVEWAY OR BUILDING:

   A.   Yielding Right-Of-Way: The driver of a vehicle emerging from any alley, driveway or building onto any street shall stop such vehicle prior to driving upon or onto the sidewalk or sidewalk area extending across such alleyway or driveway, and shall yield the right-of-way to any pedestrian or vehicle approaching upon said street.

   B.   Driver Turning Left: The driver of a vehicle turning left entering an alley, driveway or building shall yield the right-of-way to any vehicle approaching from the opposite direction which is so close as to constitute an immediate hazard. (1952 Code § 10-09-06)
