§ 70.101 STEERING MECHANISM.
   No motor vehicle, other than a motorcycle, shall be operated upon any street or highway when the play in the steering wheel is in excess of three inches. The steering arms, tie rod, drag link or other mechanism by which the vehicle is steered, and the associated parts of any vehicle shall be secure and free from excessive play and/or wear. The toe-in and toe-out front wheels on any vehicle shall not vary more than ¼-inch from the factory specifications. Rear wheels of the vehicle shall be in good condition and in alignment so as not to have more than ten-foot side slip per mile, and the center bolts shall be secure in the rear springs.
