197.07 DEFINITIONS.
   For the purpose of Sections 197.01 through 197.99 of the Codified Ordinances, the following terms, phrases, words and other derivatives shall have the meanings given in this section:
   (a)   “Officials and employees” shall mean any and all members of Council, officers and employees of the City and members of any board or commission of the City, but shall not be deemed to include a person, firm or corporation retained by the City as special counsel or for other professional or expert advisory or consulting services.
   (b)   “Agency” shall mean the Council, or any board or commission of the City or any department or division of the City.
   (c)   “Substantial financial interest” shall include any of the following interests in a business, firm or corporation: proprietor, member of a partnership, officer or director of a corporation, or a shareholder in a corporation whose shares are not obtainable on a recognized stock exchange.
   (d)   “Immediate Family” means spouse residing in the employee’s household and any dependent child.
   (e)   “General Family member” includes all immediate family members and all other persons related to the employee by blood, marriage or adoption, to the third degree of lineal consanguinity, collateral consanguinity, or affinity and includes the following persons: Father, Mother, Brother, Sister, Son, Daughter, Grandfather, Grandmother, Uncle, Aunt, Nephew, Niece, Grandson, Granddaughter, 1st Cousin, Great Grandfather, Great Grandmother, Great Uncle, Great Aunt, Great Nephew, Great Niece, Great Grandson, Great Grandaughter, 2nd Cousin.
   (f)   “High Ranking Public City Official” means any person serving in any of the following positions with the City of Berea:
      (1)   Any elected official (including any person appointed to an elected position pursuant to the City Charter).
      (2)   Any Director, Acting Director, or Assistant Director of a City Department.
      (3)   The Chief or Acting Chief of the Division of Fire, and the Chief or Acting Chief of the Division of Police.
