197.08 LIMITATIONS ON HIRING OF FAMILY MEMBERS.

   (a)   Other than as provided hereinafter, no person who is a general family member, as defined in Section 197.07(e), of a High Ranking Public City Official (as defined in Section 197.07(f)), shall be hired as a part-time or full-time employee of the City.

   (b)   The foregoing prohibition shall not apply to:

      (1)   Any elected position of the City;

      (2)   Any competitive testing position in the Classified Civil Service of the City (but no general family member employed by the City shall influence or attempt to influence or otherwise participate in the hiring selection of such position); or

      (3)   Any non-compensation or nominally compensated appointment to a City board, committee or commission, except to the extent otherwise prohibited by law.
