139.01 COMPENSATION; BOND.
   (a)   Effective January 1, 2000, the salary of the Law Director shall be $30,000.00 per annum, payable bi-weekly.
   (b)   The Law Director shall be allowed an expanse allowance of $8,983.00 per annum, payable quarterly. (Ord. 53 (98-99). Passed 9-13-99.)
   (c)   The Law Director’s salary and expenses shall be annually adjusted on January 1 of each year hereafter by an amount equal to the same percentage of increase as is used to increase other City employees.
   Effective January 1, 2012, the Law Director’s salary and expenses shall be annually adjusted on January 1 of each year thereafter by a percentage equal to the average of annual wage increases provided in the City’s labor contracts with Union employees.

   (d)   The Law Director shall be eligible for and entitled to coverage under all the City’s insurance plans.
   (e)   The Law Director shall give bond in the sum of five thousand dollars ($5,000).

139.02 ASSOCIATE LAW DIRECTOR.
   (a)   The position of Associate Law Director is hereby created. The Associate Law Director is authorized to assist the elected Law Director and to perform legal services for the City, as directed by the Law Director, City Council and/or the Mayor. The Associate Law Director may appear in Court and file legal pleadings on behalf of the City.
   (b)   The Associate Law Director shall be appointed by the Mayor, with the approval of the Law Director and City Council. The Associate Law Director must have a valid active license to practice law in Ohio, and shall be a resident of the City.
   (c)   The position of Associate Law Director will carry no salary nor any allowance for expenses and shall not be eligible for any employee benefits.
