The following sections of the Ohio Plumbing Code, shall be changed to read as follows in order to provide safer materials and specifications where local experiences have proven their necessity.
(a) 4101:2-51-41 Drainage Pipes, General. This section shall be changed to read: Drainage pipes shall be designed and constructed to be free from leakage of water or air due to defective materials, imperfect connections, corrosion, settlement or vibration of the ground or building, temperature changes, freezing or other causes, for the reasonable life of the building. Soil and waste piping for the drainage system above ground, (except for urinals which shall be cast-iron soil pipe to fixture branch serving other type fixtures above or underground) shall be of cast-iron soil pipe, lead, brass, A.B.S. plastic, schedule 40 pipe, or copper pipe, or copper tube Type “L”, or heavier.
Underground building drains shall be of cast-iron soil pipe, Type "K" or heavier copper, or clay tile pipe.

(b) 4101:2-51-55 Soil or Waste Stacks. This section shall be changed to read:
In every building at least one soil or waste stack shall extend full size through the roof and shall be as direct as possible and free from sharp angles and turns. The required size of soil or waste stacks shall be independently determined by the total fixture-unit of all fixtures connected to the stack in accordance with table 4101:2-51-46.

(c) 4101:2-51-56 Vents. The first paragraph shall be changed to read:
Vent piping shall be cast iron soil pipe, galvanized wrought iron, galvanized steel, lead, brass, copper pipe Type "L" or heavier copper. The use of A.B.S. plastic schedule 40 pipe in unheated vents is authorized.

(d) 4101:2-51-58 Vent Connections. The last paragraph shall be changed to read:
No vent pipe through the roof shall be less than two inches in diameter. Change in diameter shall be made by increasers at least one foot below the roof.
