(a) No person, firm or corporation shall operate and maintain a junkyard inside the City without first obtaining a license to do so from the Mayor. A person, firm or corporation who was operating and maintaining a junkyard prior to April 1, 1964, is entitled to be issued a license or a renewal thereof upon the payment of the fee provided for in this section.

(b) The fee for a license issued under this chapter shall be two hundred dollars ($200.00).
(c) All licenses issued under this chapter shall expire on the first day of April following the date of issue. A license may be renewed from year to year upon paying to the Mayor, the sum of twenty-five dollars ($25.00) for each renewal.

(d) All fees paid under the provisions of this chapter shall be paid to the General Fund of the City.
(e) Any license or renewal thereof may be revoked by the Mayor, after reasonable notice and an opportunity to be heard for any violation of the provisions of this chapter.
(f) Whenever a license has been revoked by the Mayor, under the provisions of this chapter, the Mayor shall not issue another license to the husband or wife of the licensee, or to any partnership or corporation of which he is an officer or member, until the expiration of at least one year from the date of revocation of the license.
