§ 33.76 LEAVE OF ABSENCE.
   An employee, upon request by the employee to the department head and Personnel Director, may be granted a leave of absence for not more than one year for a legitimate reason. This leave shall be without pay; however, accrued vacation time may be applied for pay purposes. In the event that an employee takes a leave of absence, the employee shall not accrue city fringe benefits as set out in § 33.41 and §§ 33.70 through 33.74. The city will not guarantee an employee that the employee will be able to return to his former position upon return from leave.
