(A) The following days and any other days as the Mayor may designate shall be holidays with pay for all regular employees, probationary employees, and temporary employees - Class II who are paid by the hour.
(1) New Year’s Day.
(2) Washington’s Birthday.
(3) Memorial Day.
(4) July Fourth.
(5) Labor Day.
(6) Veteran’s Day.
(7) Thanksgiving Day.
(8) Christmas Day.
(B) The following regulations shall apply to holiday leave.
(1) To be eligible for holiday pay, an employee shall have worked the immediately-preceding scheduled work day and the next-succeeding scheduled work day, unless excused in advance for vacation leave or approved sick leave.
(2) Hourly-rated employees who are scheduled for an eight-hour shift, and work said shift, on a holiday (all holidays under this section shall be such day or days as shall be designated as a holiday by the city’s personnel policy or by the Mayor) shall be granted the equivalent of eight compensatory hours or one compensatory day off in addition to such employees’ regular rate of pay, to be determined by the director of such employee’s department.
