3-27-1: DEFINITIONS:
For purposes of this chapter the following terms shall have the following meanings:
   COORDINATOR: Means the person designated by the Chief of Police as the Crime Free Rental Housing Coordinator responsible for the Batavia Crime Free Rental Housing Program seminars and program implementation.
   DESIGNATED AGENT: Means that person designated by the owner for the purpose of receiving notice as provided in subsection 3-27-2D of this chapter.
   DWELLING: Means any single family, duplex, townhome or condominium building or unit that is separately titled and owned.
   DWELLING UNIT: Means any unit within a multi-unit building that is intended and used for living purposes separate from other units in the same building.
   LARGE MULTI-UNIT RENTAL PROPERTY: Means a building or complex of buildings that include six (6) or more rented dwellings and dwelling units. Any property consisting of a complex of rental buildings that is contiguous is considered one rental property for purposes of this chapter.
   LICENSEE: Means the person(s) to whom a rental license is issued.
   OWNER: Means any person in whom the title to real estate is vested. If title is vested in a trust, "owner" shall include the beneficiaries of the trust.
   PERSON: Means any individual, corporation, limited liability company, partnership, association, organization or other entity, whether for profit or not-for-profit.
   PROPERTY MANAGER: Means a person designated by the owner with the authority or responsibility to oversee the management of rental property. (Ord. 13-42, 11-4-2013, eff. 12-1-2013)
