There shall be a Village Attorney who shall be an attorney licensed to practice law in the State of West Virginia, and who shall have practiced therein for at least five years. The Village Attorney shall be duly admitted and qualified to practice before the Circuit Court of Cabell County, West Virginia, and the District Court of the United States for the Southern District of West Virginia. The Village Attorney shall be appointed by the Mayor with the approval of Council and may be removed by the Mayor with the approval of Council. The Village Attorney's employment or appointment shall not extend beyond the term of the Mayor appointing him or her to the position of Village Attorney.
