922.09 SEWER SYSTEM OVERFLOWS (SSO's), ABATEMENT ORDERS AND COST RECOVERY (CLEAN-UP COSTS).
Food Service establishments found to have contributed to a sewer blockage, SSO's or any sewer system interferences resulting from the discharge of wastewater or waste containing FOG, may be ordered to install and maintain a grease interceptor, and may be subject to a more restrictive plan to abate future problems. Furthermore, sewer lateral failures and SSO's caused by Food Service Establishments alone or collectively, are the responsibility of the private property owner or FSE(s).
If the City must act immediately to clear a sewer blockage or contain and clean up an SSO caused by blockage of a private or public sewer lateral or system serving a Food Service Establishment, or acts at the request of the property owner or operator of the Food Service Establishment; the City's costs for such abatement shall be entirely borne by the property owner or operator of the Food Service Establishment, and may constitute a debt to the City as specified in Sections 922.21
through 922.26
