§ 1449.02 EXISTING COMMERCIAL OR BUSINESS BUILDINGS.
   Every owner of a building used for commercial or business purposes shall install and maintain at least one smoke or heat detecting device on the premises not later than November 1, 1980.

§ 1449.03 NEW BUILDINGS.
   All new buildings constructed in the township after the enactment of this chapter (Ord. 511, passed August 20, 1980) shall have at least one smoke or heat detecting device installed therein prior to occupancy.

§ 1449.04 RESPONSIBILITY OF FIRE MARSHAL.
   The Fire Marshal shall be available for advice and to aid the property owners in the proper installation of the smoke or heat detecting devices required by this chapter.

§ 1449.05 DISCLAIMER OF LIABILITY.
   The township hereby disclaims any liability or responsibility to any property owner for failure by such owner to install or maintain a smoke or heat detecting device as provided in this chapter. The township further disclaims any liability or responsibility for any personal injury or property damage that may occur by reason of either failure to install such smoke or heat detecting device or malfunction of such smoke or heat detecting device.

§ 1449.99 PENALTY.
   Whoever violates or fails to comply with any of the provisions of this chapter shall be fined an amount set forth by the Board of Commissioners in the fee resolution, to be assessed every 30 days until the requirements of this chapter are met.
