The City of Ashland may employ any applicant who is a “Certified Peace Officer”, pursuant to KRS 15.380 to 15.404. Such applicant must provide the city a copy of the Peace Officer Professional Standards Certification issued by the Kentucky Law Enforcement Council with the application. Certified peace officer applicants will be evaluated through the hiring procedure as outlined in § 34.26 prior to processing all non-certified applicants.
