Upon the satisfactory completion of one year of service with the Fire Department of the City of Ashland as a probationary firefighter pursuant to the terms and conditions set forth in this subchapter, and upon the recommendation of the Fire Chief, and with the approval of the City Manager such probationary firefighter shall be awarded career status with all pay, benefits and allowances pertinent thereto.
