§ 151.58 INSPECTION OF BUILDINGS; DISCONNECTION OF DEFECTIVE ELECTRICAL EQUIPMENT.
   (A)   The Electrical Inspector shall have the right, during reasonable hours, to enter any building or premises in the discharge of his or her official duties, or for the purpose of making inspections, reinspection or tests of electrical equipment contained therein or its installation. When any electrical equipment is found by the Electrical Inspector not to be in accordance with the standards of the National Electrical Code and/or to be dangerous to persons or property because of its substandard or defective installation or maintenance, the person, firm or corporation responsible for this electrical equipment shall be notified in writing of said defects and must enter upon any changes or repairs required in said notice within ten days and further, shall pursue said changes and repairs to diligent completion.
   (B)   If, during his or her inspections, the Electrical Inspector shall find that electrical wiring, appliances, installations or equipment do not meet the standard of the National Electrical Code and the Electrical Inspector has reasonable cause to believe that such faulty installation or maintenance creates a condition of immediate peril and/or danger to persons and/or property, then he or she shall immediately order the disconnection of such electrical equipment. No such order of disconnection shall be made by the Electrical Inspector unless he or she shall serve on the owner or operator and upon the local power company, written notice of his or her findings and the violations revealed by his or her inspection requiring the immediate disconnection. The owner/operator of the property in question shall have the right to appeal the order of the Electrical Inspector. It shall be unlawful for any person, form or corporation, to reconnect electrical power to electric wiring, appliances, equipment or installations while the such appliances, equipment or installations are under an order of disconnection.
