§ 72.02 CITATION AND TOWING.
   (A)   Whenever a member of the police force of the town shall find that any one or more provisions of §§ 71.15 through 71.19, 72.04 through 72.08, Chapter 74, Schedule II, or Chapter 74, Schedule III of this traffic code are being, or have been, violated by the owner or operator of any vehicle, and said owner or operator has not thereby caused, or is not involved in an accident or collision, the police may issue a citation (“ticket”) to the owner or operator of such vehicle in writing, of such violation.
      (1)   Such citation shall be made in triplicate and shall be serially numbered and show: the specific violation, the state license number and make of such vehicle, and owner’s name, provided it is readily available.
      (2)   The citation shall be signed by such officer.
      (3)   One copy of such citation shall be presented to the owner or operator of such vehicle, and in case such owner or his or her representative shall not be found in possession of, or in charge of, such vehicle, the delivering of such citation to the owner of said vehicle shall be deemed a sufficient notice of such violation.
      (4)   It shall be the duty of such officer serving such citation to file one copy thereof in the office of the Clerk-Treasurer at the close of the day’s work.
   (B)   Additionally, whenever a member of the police force of the town shall find that any one or more provisions of §§ 72.04 through 72.08, Chapter 74, Schedule II, or Chapter 74, Schedule III are being or have been violated, the officer may remove such vehicle and impound such vehicle at the owner’s expense.
