§ 71.04 WEIGHT LIMITS ON STREETS.
   (A)   The Town Council has determined that the operation of semi-tractors and semi-trailers or other commercial vehicles within the town limits should be regulated to be used on certain streets only. It shall be unlawful for a driver of a semi-tractor, any semi-trailer, or any truck having a gross weight in excess of six tons to operate said semi-tractor, semi-trailer or truck in excess of said weight on any street located in the town, except the streets designated in Chapter 73, Schedule III.
   (B)   The streets named in Chapter 73, Schedule III may be weight restricted upon request of the appropriate town department to the Town Council in which case the Clerk-Treasurer shall keep for public inspection a list of such restrictions. Signs showing the weight restrictions shall be erected before the restrictions become effective.
   (C)   The following trucks are exempt from this restriction:
      (1)   Garbage trucks;
      (2)   Utility vehicles;
      (3)   Fuel trucks; and
      (4)   Fire trucks.
