§ 92.30  TEMPORARY PERMIT IN CONNECTION WITH SALE OF VEHICLE ON PRIVATE PROPERTY.
In the event an owner of a vehicle which does not bear a currently valid license plate desires to offer the same for sale to members of the general public, then the following shall apply.
   (A)   A vehicle which does not bear a currently valid license plate may be offered for sale to the general public upon the owner of the vehicle acquiring a permit from the office of the Clerk-Treasurer. The owner of the vehicle shall make an application in writing to the Clerk-Treasurer along with payment of the permit fee in the amount of $5. A permit issued under this section shall be valid for a period of 60 consecutive calendar days from the date of the issuance of the permit, and the permit shall not be renewable upon its expiration.
   (B)   Upon obtaining a permit, the owner of the vehicle, which vehicle may be classified as a junk vehicle under § 92.26 of this chapter, shall be authorized to display the same on private real estate during the 60-day period for the sole purpose of selling the vehicle. If the vehicle is not sold and removed during the 60-day period, then the procedures set forth in § 92.28 of this chapter shall be invoked; and the vehicle shall be disposed of in accordance with the terms and provisions of § 92.28 of this chapter.
   (C)   The permit shall be issued in the name of the owner of the vehicle and shall set forth the address and the name of the owner of the real estate where the vehicle will be displayed for the purposes of sale. Not more than one vehicle intended for sale shall be displayed on the property at the same time. The permit shall at all times be displayed in a prominent place on the vehicle, and the vehicle, subject to the consent of the Clerk-Treasurer and the approval of the Town Council, may, for purposes of sale, be transferred from one location to another within the town during the 60-day period without the payment of another permit fee.
   (D)   A person who violates any provision or condition of this section shall be subject to the penalties set out in § 92.99 of this chapter.
