§ 42-530. LAMPS AND EQUIPMENT ON BICYCLES.
   (A)   Bicycles or motorized scooters in use at nighttime shall be equipped with a lamp on the front which shall emit a white light from the front of the bicycle and a red lamp on the rear emitting a red light visible from a distance of at least 500 feet, and 1,000 feet if the speed limit is over 25 mph. Every bicycle shall be equipped with a red reflector which shall be visible for 600 feet to the rear when directly in front of lawful lower beams of headlamps on a motor vehicle.
   (B)   No person shall operate a bicycle or motorized scooter unless it is equipped with a bell or other device capable of giving a signal audible for a distance of a least 100 feet.
   (C)   A bicycle or motorized scooter shall not be equipped with, nor shall any person use, any siren or whistle.
   (D)   Bicycles or motorized scooters shall be equipped with a brake which will enable the operator to make the braked wheel skid on dry, level, clean pavement.
