§ 2-195. BOND.
   The City Treasurer, before entering upon the duties of his or her office, shall execute and file with the City Clerk a good and sufficient bond in the sum of $50,000, executed by some reliable fidelity and surety company lawfully transacting business in the state. The bond and surety shall be approved by the Council of the city, and the bond shall be conditioned for the faithful performance of the duties of the City Treasurer as provided by ordinances of the city and enjoined by law. The city shall pay out of its general revenue the premium for such bond.
