§ 10-212. INSTALLATIONS TO WHICH THIS ARTICLE APPLIES.
   The provisions of this article shall apply to all installations of electrical conductors, wiring, conduits, fixtures, devices, appliances, or other electrical equipment or materials, hereinafter defined as electrical wiring, within or on public or private buildings, structures, or premises, except as follows.
   (A)   The provisions of this article shall not apply to the installation, alteration, or repair of electrical wiring for the generation and distribution of electrical current up to and including the meters, where such work is an integral part of the system owned and operated by an electrical public service corporation, or the light and power department of any city or town in the state, in rendering its duly authorized service as such.
   (B)   The provisions of this article shall not apply to the installation, alteration, or repair of electrical equipment and devices for the operation of signals for the transmission of intelligence (where such work is an integral part of the communications system owned and operated by a privately or publicly owned telephone or telegraph company in rendering its duly authorized service as such) or to the signal communication systems railroad and pipe line companies not used by the public or for hire.
   (C)   The provisions of this article shall not apply to the installation, alteration, or repair of electrical equipment used for radio transmission in broadcasting or transmitting station.
   (D)   The provisions of this article shall not apply to emergency minor repair work.
   (E)   The provisions of this article shall not apply to the installation, alteration, or repair of the fire and police signaling communication systems or central station electric protection service companies.
