HOME OCCUPATION. A customary occupation or profession conducted for gain or support by a member of the immediate family residing on the premises.
(1) Customary
HOME OCCUPATIONS include, but are not limited to, the following occupations:
(a) Architects, engineers, lawyers, planners, and members of similar professions;
(b) Artists, authors, composers, and sculptors;
(c) Beauty salons;
(d) Day care homes;
(e) Dressmakers, sewists, and tailors;
(f) Foster homes for not more than six children;
(g) Home crafts, such as cabinet work, lapidary work, model making, and rug weaving;
(h) Insurance agents and real estate brokers;
(i) Ministers, priests, and rabbis;
(j) Salespeople, sales representatives, and manufacturers’ representatives;
(k) Teaching of not more than four pupils at one time, or, in the case of music, not more than one; and
(l) Yard work.
(2) Customary
HOME OCCUPATIONS do not include the following occupations:
(a) Animal hospitals, kennels, or stables;
(b) Barber shops;
(c) Dancing schools;
(d) Funeral homes;
(e) Interior decoration workshops;
(f) Medical or dental offices or clinics or hospitals;
(g) Nursery schools;
(h) Restaurants; or
(i) Tourist homes.
