8-1-5: REPORT ON PROPOSED AMENDMENTS TO TRAFFIC ORDINANCES:
Upon the introduction of any motion, resolution or ordinance before the City Council which calls for the amendment of ordinances regulating traffic within the City, including ordinances pertaining to pedestrians or parking of vehicles, the motion, resolution or ordinance shall be referred to the Mayor who shall order a report from the Police Department and/or Public Works Department, which report shall consider the proposed amendment and its effect, if any, on the improvement of the traffic regulations of the City. The report shall be prepared and made available for consideration of the City Council prior to the next regular meeting of the committee of the City Council which shall consider said matter. Nothing herein contained shall require an additional report on an amendment to a motion, resolution or ordinance already pending before the City Council or a committee thereof which has been the subject of a report before final action is taken with regard thereto. Failure of the City to comply with this Section shall not invalidate any ordinance adopted by the City Council regulating traffic. (Ord. 6228, 12-17-1997)
