7-2-8: CRIMINAL TRESPASS TO LAND:
   A.   It shall be unlawful for a person to enter upon the land or any part thereof of another, after receiving, immediately prior to such entry, notice from the owner or occupant that such entry is forbidden, or remains upon the land or premises of another after receiving notice from the owner or occupant to depart. A person has received notice from the owner or occupant within the meaning of this section if he has been notified personally, either orally or in writing, or if a printed or written notice forbidding such entry has been conspicuously posted or exhibited at the main entrance to such land or premises or the forbidden part thereof.    B.   It shall be unlawful for a person to enter any part of a structure that has been declared an unsafe and dangerous building by the city of Alton and it shall be unlawful for a person to enter upon any part of the lot or lots upon which such a structure is located within a certain distance from any part of such structure, said distance being a distance equal to one-half (1/2) the tallest height of the structure as measured outward from the structure.
Exceptions: The entry upon such land or structure to: repair or demolish, pursuant to permit; maintain weeds, grass or other vegetation pursuant to this code; or secure said structure pursuant to this code shall not be deemed a trespass. (Ord. 6617, 10-24-2001)
