There is hereby created the position of supervisor of building and zoning. The supervisor of building and zoning shall be appointed by the mayor, by and with the consent of the city council. The person selected for appointment of supervisor of building and zoning shall be qualified by education and experience to act as supervisor of building and zoning for the city in accordance with duties and responsibilities as designated by the mayor from time to time.
