There is hereby established the Office of Director of Planning and Development, which shall be filled by appointment of the Mayor, by and with the consent of the City Council. Education, knowledge and experience shall qualify the Director of Planning and Development. The Director of Planning and Development shall oversee all economic and community development efforts within the City of Alton, including the administration of all grants and programs related to economic and community development. The Director of Planning and Development shall work under the supervision of the Mayor. (Ord. 7664, 8-22-2018)
