707.01   Definitions.
707.02   Paramedic on all ambulances.

707.01 DEFINITIONS.
   As used in this chapter:
   (a)   “Ambulance” means any vehicle as defined by Ohio R.C. 4765.01(E) that is responding to any call from the 911 system, from the Alliance Police Department, from the Alliance Fire Department, or from the Alliance Dispatch Department for service in the City.
   (b)   “Advanced life support” means treatment described in Ohio R.C. 4765.39 that a paramedic is certified to perform.
   (c)   “Paramedic” means an individual who holds a current, valid certificate issued under Ohio R.C. 4765.30 to practice as an emergency medical technician- paramedic. (Ord. 82-08-S. Passed 1-5-09.)
707.02 PARAMEDIC ON ALL AMBULANCES.
   Ambulances dispatched as defined above shall be staffed at the advanced life support level with a minimum of one paramedic on the ambulance, unless there is not such ambulance immediately available from any of the City authorized emergency response providers.

707.03 VIOLATION; PENALTY.
   Whoever violates Section 707.02 may be suspended by the Director of Public Safety and Service from receiving calls from the 911 system, the Alliance Police Department, the Alliance Fire Department, and the Alliance Dispatch Department for service in the City for a period of thirty days, unless the Director of Public Safety and Service determines in a writing filed with City Council that extraordinary circumstances justify the violation and that such a suspension is not in the best interest of the residents of the City. Each violation of Section 707.02 shall constitute a separate ground for suspension. (Ord. 82-08-S. Passed 1-5-09.)
