§ 53.18 INSTALLATION OF NEW SIDEWALKS.
   (A)   The town may install new sidewalks in developed areas within the town where no sidewalks currently exist based upon a survey, prepared by the town, identifying those developed areas within the town lacking sidewalks. The survey shall further prioritize the installation of new sidewalks into one of the following three categories:
      (1)   High-priority/short-term action;
      (2)   Mid-priority/mid-term action; or
      (3)   Low-priority/long-term action.
   (B)   The criteria to be utilized in the prioritization of new sidewalk installation include the frequency of use of the sidewalk, proximity of the sidewalk to pedestrian traffic generators and ADA compliance.
   (C)   The locations chosen for sidewalks installation shall be based upon its priority listing and shall be accomplished on an on-going, annual basis as budgeted by the Town Street Department and the Town Council.
   (D)   Unless otherwise determined by the Town Council, the repair or replacement of existing sidewalks shall take precedence over the installation of new sidewalks.
