(A) Dry hydrants may be required to be installed when an available static water supply is available in the development. This should be used as an additional water supply for fire protection. Dry hydrants shall not be substituted when standard fire hydrants are required by the FPBSC adopted code and this chapter.
(B) Dry hydrants shall be placed within eight feet of the roadway and 30 to 36 inches above finished grade.
(C) All dry hydrants shall be painted red in color.
(D) The connection is to be a six-inch female connection national standard thread with cap. All installations shall be in accordance with NFPA and the FPBSC adopted codes.
(E) All dry hydrants shall be identified with a sign stating “Fire Department Dry Hydrant - Do Not Block”, which shall be affixed to the connection.
