1312.03 DEFINITIONS.
   (a)   Home Improvement-General Contractor.
        (1)   Any person that functions either on the behalf of, or as an agent for, an owner of a building, structure, or site for the purpose of obtaining building permits for the structural addition, alteration, repair, and/or new construction of any appurtenance, building, structure, or site, or a portion thereof, governed by the Ohio Building Code (OBC) and/or the new construction of one-, two-, and three-family dwellings and those new appurtenances directly associated there with as regulated by the Residential Code of Ohio (RCO).
      (2)   Any person that offers to provide and/or provides the means, processes, and procedures for the structural addition, alteration, repair, and / or new construction of any appurtenance, building, structure or site, or a portion thereof, governed by the Ohio Building Code (OBC). In addition, such registration shall also include the new construction of one-, two-, and three- family dwellings and those new appurtenances directly associated therewith as regulated by the Residential Code of Ohio.
   (b)    Home Improvement-Limited Contractor.
      (1)   Any person that offers to provide and/or provides the means, processes, and procedures for a specialized area of home improvements that would be involved in the repair, replacement or installation of any component of any appurtenance, building, structure, or site, or a portion thereof, governed by the Ohio Building Code (OBC) and in association with any one-, two-, and three-family dwellings as regulated by the Residential Code of Ohio (RCO).
      (2)   Specialized areas of home improvement would include the following:
         A.   Residential Masonry or Concrete which would include installation of footings, foundations, sidewalks, driveways, curbs, slabs or retaining walls
         B.   Residential Roofing
         C.   Residential Siding, Windows and doors
         D.   Residential Installation of Prefabricated Interior or Exterior fuel burning appliances
         E.   Residential Structural Repairs and/or changes
         F.   Residential Deck or Yard Structure installation
         G.   Residential Swimming Pool or Spa installation
         H.   Residential Gypsum Board Installer
         I.   Residential Excavation or site work
   (c)   Electrical Contractor.
      (1)    Any person that offers to provide and/or provides the means, processes, and procedures for the addition, alteration, repair, and / or new construction of any electrical component of any appurtenance, building, structure or site, or a portion thereof, governed by the Ohio Building Code (OBC). In addition, such registration shall also include the new construction, replacement or addition to any electrical component of one-, two-, and three- family dwellings and those new appurtenances directly associated therewith as regulated by the Residential Code of Ohio.
   (d)    Demolition Contractor.
      (1)    Any person that offers to provide and/or provides the means, processes, and procedures for the demolition of any appurtenance, building, structure or site, or a portion thereof, governed by the Ohio Building Code (OBC) and the Codified Ordinances of the City of Zanesville and the General Specifications established by the Building Official.
      (2)    Any person that offers to provide and/or provides the means, processes, and procedures for the demolition of any appurtenance, building, structure or site, or a portion thereof, governed by the Residential Code of Ohio and the Codified Ordinances of the City of Zanesville and the General Specifications established by the Building Official.
   
   (e)    Mechanical Contractor.
      (1)   Any person that offers to provide and/or provides the means, processes, and procedures for the addition, alteration, repair, and / or new construction of any mechanical component of any appurtenance, building, structure or site, or a portion thereof, governed by the Ohio Building Code (OBC). In addition, such registration shall also include the new construction, replacement or addition to any mechanical component of one-, two-, and three- family dwellings and those new appurtenances directly associated therewith as regulated by the Residential Code of Ohio.
      (2)    Mechanical Components would include the following:
         A.   Heating and Air Conditioning Installation and Repair
         B.   Gas Piping
         C.   Refrigeration Installation and Repair
         D.   Ventilation System Installations
   (f)    Plumbing Contractor.
      (1)   Any person that offers to provide and/or provides the means, processes, and procedures for the addition, alteration, repair, and / or new construction of any plumbing component of any appurtenance, building, structure or site, or a portion thereof, governed by the Ohio Building Code (OBC). In addition, such registration shall also include the new construction, replacement or addition to any plumbing component of one-, two-, and three- family dwellings and those new appurtenances directly associated therewith as regulated by the Residential Code of Ohio.
      (2)    Plumbing Components would include the following:
         A.   Waste Water drainage system installation and repair
         B.   Gas Piping Installation and repair
         C.   Hydronic Piping Installation and repair
         D.   Plumbing Fixture Installation and repair
         E.   Hot Water Heater Installation and repair
   (g)    Specialty Contractor.
      (1)    Any person that offers to provide and/or provides the means, processes, and procedures for the addition, alteration, repair, and / or new construction of any specialty component of any appurtenance, building, structure or site, or a portion thereof, governed by the Ohio Building Code (OBC). In addition, such registration shall also include the new construction, replacement or addition to any specialty component of one-, two-, and three- family dwellings and those new appurtenances directly associated therewith as regulated by the Residential Code of Ohio.
      (2)    Specialty Components would include the following:
         A.   Fire Suppression System Installation and repair
         B.   Fire Alarm or Alarm System Installation and repair
         C.   Smoke, Heat or Carbon Monoxide Detection Installation and repair.
