1321.06 EXPIRATION OF PERMIT BY LIMITATION.
Except as otherwise provided in Ohio R.C. 3791.04, a building permit under which no work is commenced within six months after issuance or under which work is not completed within twelve months from the date of issuance, or such longer period of time as may be allowed by the Building Official, shall expire by limitation. A demolition permit under which no work is commenced within ten days after issuance or under which work is not completed within thirty days from the date of issuance shall expire by limitation. Failure to call for required inspections within the aforementioned time frames shall cause or verify the expiration of the building permit. The Building Official may, within three months of expiration of any permit, reinstate it, but shall not be obligated to do so. If a permit expires, no fees shall be refundable. If a permit is reinstated, an additional fee equal to fifty percent (50%) of the original fee, but not more than one hundred dollars ($100.00) shall be charged. New applications and new fees are required on all permits that have been expired more than three months.
