No new electrical wiring; change of electrical wiring or apparatus for light, heat or power; or new heating, ventilation or air conditioning equipment; or new structural components shall be installed until a permit for the same has been obtained from the Building Official. Whenever a permit is required for electrical work, only a person licensed to do that work by the City pursuant to Chapter 1311 shall be able to obtain the electrical permit.
EXCEPTION: Property owners shall be permitted to obtain electrical permits for work they personally will perform on their own properties. Required inspections shall apply.
(a) No person shall construct, alter, remove any electric, heating, plumbing, or structural component or demolish or commence the construction, alteration, removal of any electric, heating, plumbing or structural component or demolition of a building or structure until a permit has been obtained from the Building Official.
