§ 38-01 Disposition of Surplus Property.
   (A)   The City Council finds that it would be in the public interest to allow for the donation or sale of surplus property in its possession to nonprofit charitable organizations, educational institutions and other governmental agencies.
      (1)   Donation or sale of surplus property having an estimated value of more than $2,500 shall be submitted to the City Council, in the form of a Motion, for their consideration.
      (2)   Donation or sale of surplus property having an estimated value of $2,500 or less may be approved by the Purchasing Agent following established procedures pursuant to § 36-02 when such action would be of public benefit.
   (B)   Surplus property that has not been disposed of as provided in subsection (A) above may be disposed of through public auction, competitive sealed bidding or other appropriate methods as may be required by state law and the Yuma City Charter.
