There is a need to encourage, create, promote, coordinate and market public and private sporting and other events, conventions, cultural, historical and other attractions and related activities, and the travel and tourism industry that serve the activities, in order to attract and serve tourism, convention and event visitation, all of which will inure to the benefit of the county and its citizens.
