§ 52.42 ABBREVIATIONS.

   The following abbreviations shall have the designated meanings:

   (A)   BOD: biochemical oxygen demand;

   (B)   CFR: Code of Federal Regulations;

   (C)   COD: chemical oxygen demand;

   (D)   EPA: Environmental Protection Agency;

   (E)   l: liter;

   (F)   mg: milligrams;

   (G)   mg/l: milligrams per liter;

   (H)   NPDES: national pollutant discharge elimination system;

   (I)   POTW: publicly owned treatment works;

   (J)   SIC: standard industrial classification;

   (K)   SWDA: Solid Waste Disposal Act, 42 USC §§ 6901 et seq.;

   (L)   USC: United States Code; and

   (M)    TSS: total suspended solids.
