10-4-3: YARDS:
   A.   Use By Adjoining Lots: No required yard or open space around an existing building or other buildings hereafter erected shall be considered a yard or open space for any other buildings on an adjoining lot or parcel. (1973 Code § 17.24.030)
   B.   Front Yards:
      1.   Through Lots: On through lots, either end lot line may be considered the front line, in which case the minimum rear yard shall not be less than is required as a front yard in the respective land use district.
      2.   Corner Lots: There shall be no plantings, fences, shrubbery or other obstruction to vision more than three feet (3') higher than the curb level within twenty feet (20') of the intersection of any two (2) streets on corner lots. (1973 Code § 17.24.040)
   C.   Side Yards:
      1.   Corner Lot: On a corner lot, the building line from the street running parallel with the side line of such lot shall be not less than the front yard, as required in that district, except in the R-1 residence district, as noted.
      2.   Outside Stairs Or Landing: Outside stairs or landing places, if unroofed or unenclosed, may extend into a side yard not to exceed three feet (3'). (1973 Code § 17.24.050)
   D.   Rear Yards:
      1.   Outside Stairs Or Landing: An outside stair or landing place, if unroofed or unenclosed, may extend into a rear yard not to exceed five feet (5').
      2.   Detached Accessory Building: A detached accessory building may occupy a portion of the rear yard subject to the provisions of this chapter, and chapters 3 and 5 of this title. (1973 Code § 17.24.060)
