9-4-4: DEFINITIONS:
   A.   Words used in the present tense include the future tense; words in the singular include the plural and vice versa.
   B.   The word "shall" is mandatory and the word "may" is permissive; the word "persons" includes an agency, association, firm, partnership or corporation as well as an individual.
   C.   Terms not herein defined shall have the meaning customarily assigned thereto. (1973 Code § 15.08.010)
ACCESSORY BUILDING: A subordinate building on the same lot with a principal building or use, the purpose of which is customarily incidental to the main building or use. When attached to the principal building, the accessory building shall be required to maintain the same yard setbacks as those of the principal building.
BUILDING: Any structure having a roof and used or built for the shelter or enclosure of persons, animals, chattels or property of any kind, including, but not limited to, carports, ramadas and awnings.
CABANA: Any portable, demountable or permanent cabin, room, enclosure or other building erected, constructed or placed on any mobile home site or recreational vehicle site.
CARPORT: Any accessory building having one or more open sides, used by occupants of a mobile home park or recreational vehicle park for the parking of an automobile or other motorized vehicle.
CENTRAL ACCESSORY BUILDING: A structure housing toilet, lavatory and such other facilities as are required or permitted by this chapter.
DRIVEWAY: A thoroughfare provided and maintained as the principal means of access to the abutting mobile home or recreational vehicle sites.
MOBILE HOME: A structure eight feet (8') or greater in width and forty feet (40') or greater in length designed to be moveable but not self motive, when provided with utilities, and meeting the requirements of this chapter and other applicable laws, and shall be considered a structure suitable for human occupancy.
MOBILE HOME PARK: An area, parcel or tract of land having as its principal use the rental, leasing or occupancy of space by two (2) or more mobile homes, on a permanent or semipermanent basis, including any accessory buildings, structures or uses customarily incidental thereto.
MOBILE HOME SPACE: A portion of land within a mobile home park used or intended to be used for parking of one mobile home, including the land covered by the mobile home, required yards and parking area, and attached or detached accessory buildings and structures and open space.
OPEN SPACE: A common area, including, but not limited to, recreation and greenbelt areas, set aside for enjoyment and/or recreation of all park inhabitants.
PARKING SPACE: A fully accessible space for the parking of permitted vehicles, each space shall be a minimum of eight feet by nineteen feet (8' x 19').
PRINCIPAL BUILDING: A building including a mobile home or group of buildings within which is conducted the principal use of the lot on which the building is located. A mobile home used as a principal building is limited to mobile home parks.
RAMADA: Any roof or shade structure installed, erected or used above a mobile home, recreational vehicle, lot, space or portion thereof.
RECREATIONAL VEHICLE: Includes the following structures:
Camping Trailer: A folding structure usually made of canvas, mounted on wheels and designed for use as a temporary dwelling for travel, recreation and vacation use.
Motor Home: A portable, temporary dwelling used for travel, recreation and vacation constructed as an integral part of a self-propelled vehicle.
Pickup Coach: A structure designed to be mounted on a truck chassis for use as a temporary dwelling for travel, recreation and vacation use.
Travel Trailer: A vehicular, portable structure built on a chassis, designed to be used as temporary dwelling for travel, recreation and vacation use, having a body width not exceeding eight feet (8') and body length not exceeding forty feet (40').          
RECREATIONAL VEHICLE PARK: Includes two (2) types of recreational vehicle parks as follows, each subject to certain requirements upon issuance of a special use permit:
   A.   Type A: A parcel or tract of land having as its principal use the rental or occupancy of space, not to exceed one year, by two (2) or more recreational vehicles, including accessory buildings, structures or uses customarily incidental thereto; and
   B.   Type B: A parcel or tract of land, operated in conjunction with another principal business (i.e., motel, restaurant, service station, etc.), and having as its principal use the transient rental or occupancy of space, not to exceed seventy two (72) hours, by two (2) or more recreational vehicles including accessory buildings and structures, or uses customarily incidental thereto.
RECREATIONAL VEHICLE SPACE: A portion of land within a recreational vehicle park used or intended to be used for parking of one recreational vehicle, including the land covered by the recreational vehicle, required yards and parking area, and attached or detached accessory buildings and structures and open space.
SETBACK: The minimum horizontal distance between a lot line and the nearest point of a building, structure, or use including the distance between buildings, mobile homes, recreational vehicles and related uses.
SWIMMING POOL: Any constructed pool used for swimming, bathing or wading, whether below ground or above, regardless of depth or surface area.
UNFIT FOR HUMAN HABITATION OR OCCUPANCY: Any mobile home, recreational vehicle, park, structure or building and any facility which is dangerous or detrimental to human life or health through either lack of maintenance or repair generally, or because of unsafe or improper construction or installation.
