A. Office Created: The office of public works director is hereby created. (1973 Code § 13.04.010; amd. 2001 Code)
B. Powers And Duties: The public works director shall:
1. Have sole charge and management of the municipal water plant, the care and custody of the pump house, engines, motor pumps, tanks, pipes, tools, implements and materials in and used in connection with the municipal plant, and be responsible for the safety of the property entrusted to his care, subject at all times to the orders of the city council;
2. Keep a duplicate inventory of all property belonging to the municipal water system one copy of which shall be filed with the city clerk, check the same monthly and turn over all property to his successor;
3. Perform and do all things required of him by the city council relating to the operation of the municipal water plant, and have charge of all repairs and changes to any part of the system;
4. Have direction and control of all his assistants. (1973 Code § 13.04.020; amd. 2001 Code)
