6-4-1: RIGHT OF WAY:
   A.   Vehicles Approaching Or Entering Intersection: The driver of a vehicle approaching an intersection shall yield the right of way to a vehicle which has entered the intersection from a different street or highway. (1973 Code § 10.20.010)
   B.   Vehicles Entering Intersection At Same Time: When two (2) vehicles enter an intersection from different streets or highways at the same time, the driver of the vehicle on the left shall yield the right of way to the driver of the vehicle on the right. (1973 Code § 10.20.020)
   C.   Exception: Subsections A and B of this section shall not apply to vehicles approaching each other from opposite directions, when the driver of one such vehicle is intending to or is making a left turn. (1973 Code § 10.20.040)
   D.   Vehicle Turning Left At Intersection: The driver of a vehicle within an intersection preparatory to a turn to the left shall yield the right of way to any vehicle which has approached or is approaching the intersection from the opposite direction and which is so close as to constitute a hazard at any time during the turning movement, and shall continue to yield the right of way to such approaching vehicles until such time as the left turn can be made with reasonable safety.    E.   Vehicle Entering Through Street:
      1.   The driver of any vehicle who has stopped, as required by law, at the entrance to a through street or highway, shall yield the right of way to other vehicles which have entered the intersection from the through street or, which are approaching so closely on the through street or highway as to constitute an immediate hazard.
      2.   Such driver, having so yielded, may proceed and the drivers of all other vehicles approaching the intersection on the through street or highway shall yield the right of way to the vehicle so proceeding into or across the through street or highway. (1973 Code § 10.20.050)
   F.   Exceptions:
      1.   Entering From Private Road, Driveway Or Public Alley: The driver of a vehicle entering a public street or highway from a private road, private driveway or public alley shall yield the right of way to all vehicles approaching on such public street or highway.
      2.   Emergency Vehicles: The driver of a vehicle upon a street or highway shall yield the right of way to authorized emergency vehicles when the latter are operated in response to an emergency call or in pursuit or an actual or suspected violator or the law, and the driver thereof sounds an audible signal by siren or electrical warning device. (1973 Code § 10.20.060)
   G.   Yielding To Fire Trucks: No person shall, in the event of fire, operate or stand any automobile or other conveyance at a greater distance than two feet (2') from any sidewalk upon any street along the route to be taken by the fire truck or other fire conveyance when the fire truck or other fire conveyance is within one block from, or in the block and street then occupied by, such automobile or other conveyance.
