5-4-1: ANIMAL CONTROL OFFICER:
   A.   Vacancy; Acting Animal Control Officer: If at any time there should be no duly appointed and acting animal control officer in the city, the duties of animal control officer shall be performed by the chief of police, or by any veterinarian appointed by the city council, until an animal control officer is appointed.    B.   Assistants: The animal control officer may appoint one or more assistants, should he deem such necessary, subject to the provisions of this chapter. (1973 Code § 7.04.020; amd. 2001 Code)
