5-2-5: PROPERTY USE CONTROL DEVICES:
   A.   Authority Of Governmental Agencies: Any governmental or official quasi-governmental agency owning or controlling property within the city may prohibit or restrict the use of said property by the general public so long as said prohibition or restriction is reasonably made so as to preserve or protect the property and the users thereof. (1973 Code § 9.68.010)
   B.   Signs Prohibiting Or Restricting Use Of Property:
      1.   The chief of police, subject to the approval of the city council, may erect and maintain signs at appropriate locations designed to give general notice to the public of any such prohibition or restriction of the use of any such property.
      2.   The prohibition or restriction of such use may be between certain hours and days and permitted at other hours or on other days, in which event the same shall be clearly indicated on the signs erected. (1973 Code § 9.68.020)
   C.   Obedience Required: It is unlawful for any person to disobey or use any said property in violation of any prohibition or restriction as set forth on said use control signs. (1973 Code § 9.68.030)
   D.   Interference: It is unlawful for any person to attempt to or alter, deface, knock down or remove any official use control sign or any part thereof placed or erected as provided in this title. (1973 Code § 9.68.040)
   E.   Authority To Allow Variance: Anything contained in this section to the contrary notwithstanding, any agency so prohibiting or restricting the use of its property may formally allow, from time to time, variances on the prohibition or restriction of the use of its property. Any agency so allowing a variance shall notify the chief of police at least one week prior to the date or dates of such allowance. (1973 Code § 9.68.050)
