The board of health and the health officer are empowered, among other things, to inspect all meats, poultry, fish, game, bread, butter, cheese, milk, lard, eggs, vegetables, flour, fruits, meal and all other food products offered for sale in the city and to have any such products as are unsound, spoiled, unwholesome or adulterated summarily destroyed.
