§ 150.011 CONTRIBUTING TO THE NEGLECT OR DELINQUENCY OF CHILDREN; PARENTAL SUPERVISION.
   (A)   (1)   Any person who shall, by any act, non-performance or by any word, encourage, contribute toward, cause or tend to cause any minor child under the age of 17 years to become neglected or delinquent, shall be guilty of a misdemeanor.
      (2)   The term NEGLECTED, as used in this section, shall mean failure to provide for the basic needs of a child or failure to care or give proper attention to a child.
      (3)   The term DELINQUENT, as used in this section, means failure to do what is required by law, ordinance or the school code of conduct.
   (B)   No person having the care, custody or control of a child under 17 years of age shall fail to properly supervise and care for such child so that such failure to supervise, care or non-performance of parental duty causes the child to become delinquent or neglected.
   (C)   No person having the care, custody or control of a child between the ages of six to 16 years of age shall fail to properly supervise and care for such child so that such failure causes the child to become excessively tardy or truant to school at the start of the school day.
