§ 111.040 DEFINITION.
   As used in this subchapter, the term NON-COMMERCIAL SOLICITATION shall mean the request, directly or indirectly, for money, credit, property, financial assistance or other thing of value on the plea or representation of any group, society, corporation, organization or individual that such money, credit, property, financial assistance or other thing of value will be used for any religious, patriotic, philanthropic, educational, fraternal, benevolent or reformatory purpose, not operated for pecuniary profits, where no part of the net earnings of which inures to the benefit of any person, private shareholder or individual, and where the solicitation of such organization shall be conducted by members or officers thereof voluntarily and without remuneration for such solicitation. The term shall not include charitable organizations or persons soliciting for a charitable organization who have complied with Public Act 169 of 1975, as amended, being M.C.L.A. §§ 400.271 et seq.
