§ 70.008 PLACEMENT OF TRAFFIC-CONTROL DEVICES AND TOWING AND IMPOUNDMENT OF VEHICLES.
   (A)   The city’s Police Department is authorized upon the request of either the owner or the person in charge of the general operation and control of any parking area within the city to place stop signs, yield signs or other traffic-control devices in the parking area, and to place signs to prohibit, regulate, restrict or limit the stopping, standing or parking of vehicles in specified areas of the parking area.
   (B)   The city’s Police Department is authorized to remove and tow away, or have removed or towed away by a commercial towing service, any motor vehicle which is illegally operated, parked or stored in any place, including any parking area, as prohibited by local ordinance, traffic-control order, state law or traffic-control sign or a traffic-control device. Any motor vehicle parked on any designated street during the hours when parking thereon is prohibited may also be removed and towed away, as herein provided.
   (C)   Motor vehicles towed away pursuant to the provisions of this section shall be stored and returned to the owner or operator of such vehicle upon payment of the cost of removal and storage.
