If a member has credited service in force for service rendered as a member in more than one of the classifications of member defined in § 32.007 of this chapter, his or her retirement allowance or any retirement allowance payable on his or her behalf shall be computed using his or her final average compensation at time of retirement, according to § 32.016(C) of this chapter for credited service rendered as a police officer or firefighter member, according to § 32.016(D) of this chapter for credited service rendered as a hospital member, according to § 32.016(E) of this chapter for credited service rendered as a municipal service member, and according to § 32.016(F) of this chapter for credited service rendered as a general member. The portion of such retirement allowance based upon credited service in each classification of member shall not become payable prior to the member’s attainment of his or her voluntary retirement age applicable to the classification in which the service was rendered, unless the member retired under § 32.019(A) of this chapter or was considered to have retired as provided in § 32.021 of this chapter.
