Rafters shall not be less than two-inch by six-inch grade marked material placed 16 inches on center. Every rafter shall be securely anchored with hurricane clips or in a manner suitable to the Building Inspector. All two-inch by six-inch rafters shall be braced with not less than a two-inch by six-inch board to the ceiling joists at the approximate mid-point or every ten feet. If desired, ladder bracing may be used. When a truss roof is used the spacing shall not be more than 16 inches on center. Every truss shall be anchored with hurricane clips or in a manner suitable to the Building Inspector. Sheathing shall be of not less than 5/8-inch exterior grade plywood or equal. Not less than six inches of approved insulation material or equal shall be installed in all roof systems. No ceiling joists shall be less than 1-1/2 inches by six inches directly connected to rafter. Minimum 30 pound felt shall be placed on all exterior roof sheathing as underlayment.
